How to analyze load test results using the new BlazeMeter Listener

Performance testing is a complex process; configuring and executing the tests are only one part.

The most challenging part of performance testing is the analysis of test results. Currently, there are a lot of different tools with different functionality.

All of them: Excel, native JMeter Listeners, etc. have their advantages....and disadvantages.

Excel  requires a lot of manual work, native JMeter Listeners are not informative enough, other products on the market are extremelly expensive.

What's a Developer to to?

Well...there is a new Listener out on the town fellas! Fully compatible with JMeter (and BlazeMeter, natch).

Now you can run *.jmx tests with any plugins locally or using your corporate network. Then harnessing the Power of Greyskull! and of course, BlazeMeter's platform for interpreting results. Sound tempting? Try it.

To install the Blazemeter Listener download *.zip archive and unzip all its content to JMETER_HOME_DIRECTORY/lib/ext. After that you can start your local JMeter distribution. Open the test plan that you want to execute and add BlazeMeter Listener to it.
  Add the BlazeMeter Listener

Switch to it in test plan and you will see the following screen:
BlazeMeter Listener in Test Plan
Some text fields should be filled with required information. The User Key is the Blazemeter API Key.

Then, either enter your API Key to the 'User Key' field or add an entry to jmeter.properties:blazemeter_user_key=<Your API Key>

AND

Add another string to jmeter.properties: blazemeter_url=https://a.blazemeter.com

Now start your test and wait until it ends. After test has ended, results from your host will be uploaded to Blazemeter and you will receive a notification e-mail with the link to test results. Follow it to heaven or at least to Blazemeter's Dashboard on the Cloud and get your test results.
